All three are (or were) soldiers belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces. They belonged to the same unit, flying the "Mi-24P-2M" (Ми-24П-2М) "Hind-E" combat helicopter. Normally, Dmitry is the pilot, Alexei is the gunner, and Isaac is the flight engineer (and also handles maintenance and chores).
Dmitry and Alexei's father was once a pilot in the Soviet and then Russian Air Forces, and since childhood, the two dreamed of becoming pilots like their father. One day, when they were in middle school, their father took them to an air show. What caught their eye was the Mi-24, the very aircraft they would later fly. The moment they saw it, their eyes widened. Dmitry, who until then had hated studying, fooled around, and was a delinquent, suddenly began to focus on his studies, eventually improving enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Alexei.
After that, they both entered military academy at a young age, graduated with extremely outstanding results, and subsequently achieved the rank of Captain while still in their early 20s. This was an extremely rapid promotion, and rumors flew that their high-ranking father might have been involved. In any case, they had achieved their long-held dream.
Now, as for Isaac, he was an extremely ordinary Russian. He lost his parents in an accident right after he was born and was sent to live with his maternal grandmother along with his older brother, where he was raised with plenty of love. However, the family was poor, and when his older brother fell gravely ill, the situation worsened. Needing money no matter what, he saw a poster calling for army enlistment and immediately ran to the recruitment center. After enlisting, he somehow endured military life, became a mechanic and then a flight engineer, and was just a little short of becoming a pilot to support his family.
...However, one day, Dmitry and Alexei got into trouble with a superior officer and ended up killing him. They immediately kidnapped the nearby flight engineer, Isaac, as a hostage, boarded their aircraft, and attempted to flee the country—with no particular destination in mind. They were immediately pursued by fighter jets, which fired missiles. Just as they thought they'd be shot down, a dazzling light enveloped their aircraft. When they next opened their eyes, they had landed in a field. And that's how they came to this world.
Since then, the three of them (only two of whom have human rights) operate as "Surkov Transport," using their Hind for transporting goods and people, assassinations, illegal shipping, and noise harassment.
A self-defense firearm for helicopter pilots in case of a crash landing. This is a modernization of the old Soviet/Russian AK-74 assault rifle, replacing wooden parts with black polymer. It also features a folding stock, improving portability.
It has a 5.45mm caliber, a rate of fire of 650 rounds/min, and a 30-round magazine capacity. Its small-caliber bullet is known to tumble upon hitting a human body, making it extremely high in accuracy, range, and lethality. However, whether it's effective against super-powered individuals or non-humans is another story. All three carry one at all times for self-defense.
A 23mm Gast-type cannon boasting a rate of fire of 3,000-3,400 rounds per minute. Its power is terrifying; a normal person wouldn't just be cut in two, but turned into mince-meat.
It uses a combination of High-Explosive Incendiary (HEI), HEI-Tracer, and Armor-Piercing Incendiary-Tracer (API-T) rounds. These rounds explode on impact, scattering shrapnel and starting 1000°C fires. Against armor, they penetrate and then start a fire inside, detonating ammo and suffocating the crew. It's frankly overkill.
Laser-beam riding ATGM. 10km range, 1000mm RHA penetration (ignores ERA). High accuracy, but requires continuous laser guidance, creating vulnerability.
Radio-guided ATGM. 8km range, 850mm RHA penetration (ignores ERA). Cheaper than Vikhr but inferior performance and susceptible to jamming.
Dual radar/laser-guided ATGM. 6km range, 1200mm RHA penetration. Can engage two targets at once... but this Mi-24 doesn't have the radar for it.
Short-range IR "fire-and-forget" missile. 5.2km range, used against slow-moving aircraft.
Extremely maneuverable short-range IR missile, said to surpass Western contemporaries. Max range 30km.
A container housing a 23mm GSh-23L cannon (450 rounds). Performance is identical to the fixed GSh-23L mentioned above.
Unguided rocket in a 20-tube pod. 400mm RHA penetration.
Unguided rocket in a 5-tube pod. Massive 7kg explosive warhead, scattering 450 fragments. Far too powerful for anti-personnel use.
Pod with two 7.62mm and one 12.7mm Gatling guns. A morbid 33,000 rpm rate of fire, but runs out of ammo in 9 seconds.
Pod with a 30mm AGS-17 grenade launcher. 350-400 rpm, can fire for 40 seconds, raining grenades on the enemy.
Integrated system that automatically detects radar/laser locks and missile launches. It uses a DIRCM to blind IR missiles (like a flashlight in the eyes), jams radar-guided missiles, and deploys chaff/flares. Its actual performance is unknown.
Mixes cool air with engine exhaust to reduce the helicopter's heat signature, making it harder for heat-seeking missiles to lock on.
The Mi-24, NATO code "Hind," is Europe's first attack helicopter (1970). Nicknamed "Krokodil" (Crocodile) by allies and "Shaitan-Arba" (Satan's Chariot) by enemies. It's a "flying tank" designed to carry 8 troops into battle after a strafing run.
It's heavily armored: 12.7mm-resistant rotors and 14.5mm-resistant cockpit glass. This P-2M model (2019) is the latest, with upgraded avionics, night-fighting capability, and new systems. It features the classic tandem "bubble" cockpit (gunner in front, pilot in back) and a pressurized cabin for high-altitude/NBC warfare. It's fast, durable, and a true icon of Soviet/Russian design.
