Operational History

All three are (or were) soldiers belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces. They belong to the same unit and crew the Mi-24P-2M "Hind-E" attack helicopter.

Dmitry and Alexei's father was once a pilot in the Soviet and then Russian Air Forces, and since childhood, the two dreamed of becoming pilots like their father. One day, when they were in middle school, their father took them to an air show. What caught their eye was the Mi-24, the very aircraft they would later fly. The moment they saw it, their eyes widened. Dmitry, who until then had hated studying, fooled around, and was a delinquent, suddenly began to focus on his studies, eventually improving enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Alexei.
After that, they both entered military academy at a young age, graduated with extremely outstanding results, and subsequently achieved the rank of Captain while still in their early 20s. This was an extremely rapid promotion, and rumors flew that their high-ranking father might have been involved. In any case, they had achieved their long-held dream.

Now, as for Isaac, he was an extremely ordinary Russian. He lost his parents in an accident right after he was born and was sent to live with his maternal grandmother along with his older brother, where he was raised with plenty of love. However, the family was poor, and when his brother fell critically ill, the situation became desperate. Needing money at all costs, Isaac saw a recruitment poster and immediately ran to the recruitment center. After enlisting, he endured the harsh military life, becoming a mechanic and eventually a flight engineer. He was on the verge of becoming a pilot and earning enough to support his family.

...However, one day, Dmitry and Alexei got into trouble with a superior officer and ended up killing him. They immediately kidnapped the nearby flight engineer, Isaac, as a hostage, boarded their aircraft, and attempted to flee the country—with no specific destination in mind. They were immediately pursued by fighter jets. Just as they thought they were about to be shot down by a missile, a blinding light enveloped their aircraft. When they opened their eyes next, they had landed in a grassy field. Thus, they arrived in this new world. Since then, the three of them (only two of whom have human rights) operate as "Surkov Transport," using their Hind for transporting goods and people, assassinations, illegal shipping, and noise harassment.

Relationships & Group Dynamics

Dmitry and Alexei (The Surkov Twins)
Two Halves of a Whole: As identical twins, they share an almost psychic bond. They trust each other implicitly and have been inseparable since birth. Chaos vs. Order: Dmitry is the accelerator (aggression, instinct, speed), while Alexei is the brake (logic, precision, calculation). In the cockpit, this makes them a deadly efficient team. Brotherly Love: Despite their differing personalities, they are fiercely loyal.

Dmitry and Isaac (The Bully and the Victim)
Master/Slave Dynamic: Dmitry treats Isaac as property rather than a person. He frequently yells at Isaac, calls him derogatory names (like "Scumbag" or "Slave"), and threatens him with violence for minor inconveniences. The "Pet": In a twisted way, Dmitry is possessive of Isaac. He won't let anyone else hurt Isaac, because Isaac belongs to him (and the helicopter needs fixing).

Alexei and Isaac (The Operator and the Tool)
Cold Pragmatism: Unlike Dmitry’s loud abuse, Alexei treats Isaac with chilling indifference. He views Isaac as a biological component of the helicopter—essential for maintenance, but disposable if he stops functioning. The "Good" Cop: Isaac is slightly less terrified of Alexei because he doesn't yell, but he knows that Alexei is the one who calmly decided to kidnap him in the first place.

Isaac vs. The Crew
Desperate Survival: Isaac is outnumbered and outgunned. He adopts a submissive, people-pleasing persona to avoid getting beaten or killed. The Glue: Ironically, the Surkov brothers would be helpless without Isaac. They can fly and shoot, but they cannot fix the complex machinery of the Mi-35P-2M. Isaac knows this is his only leverage, though he is too afraid to use it fully.

Standard Issue

AK-74M

A self-defense firearm for helicopter pilots in case of a crash landing. This is a modernization of the old Soviet/Russian AK-74 assault rifle, replacing wooden parts with black polymer. It also features a folding stock, improving portability.

It has a 5.45mm caliber, a rate of fire of 650 rounds/min, and a 30-round magazine capacity. Its small-caliber bullet is known to tumble upon hitting a human body, making it extremely high in accuracy, range, and lethality. However, whether it's effective against super-powered individuals or non-humans is another story. All three carry one at all times for self-defense.

Asset Profile: Mi-35P-2M "Hind-E"

Specifications

  • Engine: 2x Klimov VK-2500-02 (2,400 hp each)
  • Max speed: 335km/h
  • Crew: 3 (Pilot, Gunner, Engineer)
  • Capacity: 8 troops or 2.4 tons cargo
  • Armament: GSh-23L Cannon, 9K121M Vikhr-M (Fire-and-Forget), R-74M AAM.
Fixed Armament: GSh-23L

A 23mm Gast-type cannon boasting a rate of fire of 3,000-3,400 rounds per minute. Its power is terrifying; a normal person wouldn't just be cut in two, but turned into mince-meat.

It uses a combination of High-Explosive Incendiary (HEI), HEI-Tracer, and Armor-Piercing Incendiary-Tracer (API-T) rounds. These rounds explode on impact, scattering shrapnel and starting 1000°C fires. Against armor, they penetrate and then start a fire inside, detonating ammo and suffocating the crew. It's frankly overkill.

Anti-Tank Missiles (ATGM)

9K121M Vikhr-M

Improved Laser-beam riding ATGM. 10km range, 1000mm RHA penetration (ignores ERA). Now features "Fire-and-Forget" capability, automatically tracking targets without needing constant guidance after launch.

9M127-1 Ataka-VM

Radio-guided ATGM. 8km range, 850mm RHA penetration (ignores ERA). Cheaper than Vikhr but inferior performance and susceptible to jamming.

9M123 Khrizantema-VM

Dual radar/laser-guided ATGM. 6km range, 1200mm RHA penetration. Can engage two targets at once... but this Mi-24 doesn't have the radar for it.

Air-to-Air Missiles (AAM)

9M39 Igla-1V

Short-range IR "fire-and-forget" missile. 5.2km range, used against slow-moving aircraft.

R-74M

Updated infrared-guided short-range missile. Extremely high maneuverability that influenced Western designs. Max range 30km.

Rockets & Gun Pods

UPK-23-250

A container housing a 23mm GSh-23L cannon (450 rounds). Performance is identical to the fixed one, but "since there are three times as many, maybe the power is three times as much?"

80mm S-8KO Rocket

Unguided rocket in a 20-tube pod. 400mm RHA penetration.

122mm S-13OF Rocket

Unguided rocket in a 5-tube pod. Massive 7kg explosive warhead, scattering 450 fragments. Far too powerful for anti-personnel use.

GUV-8700 (Gatling)

Pod with two 7.62mm and one 12.7mm Gatling guns. A morbid 33,000 rpm rate of fire, but runs out of ammo in 9 seconds.

GUV-8700 (Grenade)

Pod with a 30mm AGS-17 grenade launcher. 350-400 rpm, can fire for 40 seconds, raining grenades on the enemy.

Systems & History

Defensive Systems

L-370 Vitebsk Suite

Integrated system that automatically detects radar/laser locks and missile launches. It uses a DIRCM to blind IR missiles (like a flashlight in the eyes), diverting them away from the helicopter, while also jamming radar-guided missiles and deploying chaff/flares.

Infrared Suppressor (HIRSS)

Mixes cool air with engine exhaust to reduce the helicopter's heat signature, making it harder for heat-seeking missiles to lock on.

Other Equipment & History

Onboard Gear

  • Cockpit: Digitized, ergonomic, NVG-compatible, with HUD, new sights, and autopilot. Still has the old rubber-blade fans.
  • Optical Sensor: OPS-24N-1L. Can see 360 degrees and penetrate fog, smoke, and sandstorms to secure vision.
  • Loudspeaker: For boosting morale or psychological attacks.
  • Medical Kit: Minimal first aid. They don't know how to use it.
  • Rations: Expired two years ago.
  • PKMB Machine Gun: 7.62mm door gun (Left door).
  • Kord Heavy Machine Gun: 12.7mm heavy machine gun mounted on the right door. It has a range of 2000m and immense suppression capability. The entire door is opened to fire it.

Vehicle History & Design

The Mi-24, NATO code "Hind," is Europe's first attack helicopter (1970). Nicknamed "Krokodil" (Crocodile) by allies and "Shaitan-Arba" (Satan's Chariot) by enemies. It's a "flying tank" designed to carry 8 troops into battle.

It is heavily armored: aluminum rotors withstand 12.7mm rounds, and cockpit glass withstands 14.5mm. Their Mi-35P-2M is the latest 2019 model with upgraded avionics, night-fighting capability, and new engines. It's fast, durable, and a true icon of Soviet/Russian design.
